About This Scheme

The “Aromatic Plants Cultivation” scheme is implemented by the Centre for Aromatic Plants (CAP), Selaqui, Dehradun, under the Department of Horticulture, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to encourage farmers to grow aromatic plants by providing them with free seeds, planting materials, and technical support, helping them increase their income and promote aromatic farming in Uttarakhand.

Benefits

Under this scheme, the following support is provided:

  • Free seeds and planting materials are provided to farmers.
  • Seeds and planting materials for up to 5 Nali (0.1 hectare) per farmer are delivered to the farmer’s nearest motorable road or CAP office.
  • Free technical assistance, consultation, and continuous support are offered to the farmers.

How to Apply

IIn-person

  • During the awareness program, the farmer will write an application for cultivation addressed to the Director, Aromatic Plant Center, or visit the headquarters in person to submit the application. Land records, Aadhaar card, and mobile number must be attached to the application. After that, CAP's field personnel will conduct a field inspection of the applicant’s land and, after selecting the suitable crop based on the agricultural climate of the area, will submit a recommendation to the Director, CAP. The Director, CAP, will then instruct the District Coordinator of the concerned applicant to provide seeds and planting material.
  • The District Coordinator prepares a consolidated demand for all farmers in the district and sends it to the Director. Based on the recommendation, quality seeds and planting material are procured for the farmers and delivered to the nearest motorable road to the farmer’s selected land.
