Backward Classes Foreign Study Scholarship Scheme
Launched on 1st January 2007, the Backward Classes Foreign Study Scholarship Scheme by the Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh provides financial assistance to backward class students for postgraduate, Ph.D., and post-research studies abroad.
About This Scheme
Benefits
To provide financial assistance to students belonging to the backward class.
Eligibility
- •
The applicant should be a student with first class or 60% marks (or equivalent grade) in the previous examination.
- •
The applicant should be applying for a research degree (Ph.D.) or have at least 2 years of experience in the relevant field for research programs after completing a research degree.
- •
The applicant should be under 35 years of age on 1st January of the year of application.
- •
The applicant should be eligible for special relaxation of up to 10 years in certain cases as decided by the committee.
- •
The applicant should be from a family whose annual income does not exceed the income limit prescribed for the creamy layer.

How to Apply
Step 1: The interested applicant should visit the Collector Office, Assistant Director, Backward Classes and Minority Welfare Department District Office and request the hard copy of the prescribed format of the application form.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, paste the passport-sized photograph (signed across, if required), and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).
Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the documents, within the prescribed period (if any), to the concerned authority.
Step 4: Request a receipt or acknowledgement from the concerned authority to whom the application has been submitted. Ensure that the receipt contains essential details such as the date and time of submission, and a unique identification number (if applicable).
NOTE: Ensure that the application is submitted within the prescribed period, if any.
