About This Scheme

The Birsa Harit Gram Yojana by the Rural Development Department, Government of Jharkhand, aims to promote afforestation and provide sustainable livelihood opportunities for marginalized communities. Under this scheme, block and linear plantation activities are conducted on common and private lands, benefiting Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), landless families, and other economically weaker sections. The scheme is implemented by the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) framework. Objective: The objectives include improving green cover, generating rural employment, and ensuring environmental sustainability through a structured three-phase plantation model.

How to Apply
