How to Apply
To form self-help groups, municipal employees involved in the project visit wards and hold group meetings with women. After the meetings, they encourage women to form groups and a self-help group is then formed.
After formation of the group, a savings account is opened for the group in any nationalized bank, into which the women of the group deposit their monthly savings. The women in the group are encouraged to take up self-employment. Actions for self-employment are carried out at the urban local body level through banks under the CCL (Cash Credit Limit) facility.
