About This Scheme

The scheme "Decentralized People’s Nursery" by the Social Forestry wing of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest & Head of the Forest Force (HoFF), Government of Gujarat, aims to augment the income of farmers and increase tree cover by promoting afforestation activities. It allows individuals and institutions interested in raising seedlings to apply for assistance. The scheme typically involves a target of 20,000 seedlings to be raised by an applicant. A key feature is that ownership of the seedlings remains with the beneficiary, who is free to sell or use them without external permission. Financial compensation is provided in installments for the plants raised. The scheme is implemented by the Forest Department.
