GOBARdhan Scheme was launched in April 2018 as a part of the Solid and Liquid Waste Management component under Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) to positively impact village cleanliness and generate wealth and energy from cattle and organic waste. The main focus of GOBARDHAN is to keep villages clean.

How to Apply
Step 1: The Gram Panchayat will identify the beneficiaries with the support of SHGs/FPOs/milk cooperatives/milk unions/ private entrepreneurs/CBOs developed under DAY-NRLM/agencies selected or empanelled by States/Districts/BDTCs etc.
Step 2: The project plan document will be prepared with the support of identified/empanelled agencies/ BDTCs etc.
masons/barefoot technicians/engineers who would construct the biogas plants will be identified.
Step 3: Approval for administrative and technical proposals will be sought from competent authorities. O&M plan should also be part of the project proposal.
