Higher Education And Skill Development Guarantee Scheme

The Higher Education and Skill Development Guarantee Scheme aims to provide financial support through the banking system to meritorious students for pursuing higher education in Delhi, as well as recognized degree, diploma, or skill development courses offered by Central or State Government universities and institutions located outside Delhi (within India). The primary objective of the scheme is to ensure that deserving students are able to pursue higher education with access to affordable and reasonable financial assistance from banks. Under this scheme, education loans of up to ₹10 lakh availed by students will be covered under a Higher Education and Skill Development Credit Guarantee Fund created by the Government, which provides a guarantee to banks in case of loan default. Students will not be required to provide any collateral or margin money. The scheme is universal in nature and is applicable to all eligible students, irrespective of their social or economic background.
