About This Scheme

The scheme "Swachhta Udyami Yojana-Swachhta Se Sampannta Ki Aur" has been launched by the National Safai Karamcharis Finance & Development Corporation (NSKFDC), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, and aims to ensure mechanised cleaning and provide related safe and sustainable livelihood opportunities to Safai Karamcharis and liberated Manual Scavengers. Through this scheme, financial assistance at concessional rates of interest is provided for the procurement and operation of sanitation-related equipment and vehicles for the target group. The scheme is implemented by NSKFDC through Channelising Agencies, partner banks, and in coordination with Urban Local Bodies. Financial assistance is available to individuals, Self-Help Groups, Joint Responsibility Groups, cooperatives, Dry Waste Collection Centres, and Urban Local Bodies. The scheme promotes mechanised sanitation activities and supports sanitation entrepreneurs through access to loans and capital assistance. NSKFDC also works with Urban Local Bodies to facilitate the procurement of mechanised cleaning equipment and the deployment of sanitation enterprises.

Financial assistance is provided through Channelising Agencies.

Channelising Agencies are charged 3% per annum by NSKFDC.

Beneficiaries are charged 6% per annum.

Women beneficiaries receive a 1% rebate.

A 0.5% rebate is available for timely repayment.

2. Financial Assistance to Urban Local Bodies:**

Financial assistance for procurement of sanitation-related equipment and vehicles costing up to ₹75,00,000 per unit.

> Gap funding through concessional loans for:

Municipal Solid Waste Management.

  • Registration Certificate of Cooperative Society (for registered cooperative societies).
  • Registration Documents of Association/Firm (for legally constituted associations or firms).
  • Project Report/Project Proposal.
  • Quotations or Proforma Invoices for Equipment/Vehicles Proposed to be Procured.
  • Bank Account Details.
  • Passport-Size Photographs.
  • Work Assurance Letter from Urban Local Body (where applicable).
  • Loan Agreement and Other Documents as Required by the State Channelising Agency, Regional Rural Bank, or Nationalised Bank.
