About This Scheme

The scheme “Madhya Pradesh Lok Vaniki Yojana” was launched by the Forest Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh. The scheme aims to manage private and revenue tree covered areas. The scheme provides for the scientific management of tree covered areas located in private and revenue lands, where the management is proposed voluntarily by the landowner, Gram Panchayat, or Gram Sabha. The applications for this scheme are accepted by submitting the proposal to the Divisional Officer (Van Mandal Adhikari) or the Range Officer (Van Kshetra Adhikari).

##### Conditions

_The designated Landowner, Gram Panchayat, or Gram Sabha must implement the Technical Management Plan according to the activities and conditions specified within the plan._

_For "Lok Van" (Public Forest) management plans, the Gram Sabha must authorize the implementation of the specified activities through a resolution of the Social Audit Committee._

_If the management plan involves harvesting timber, the concerned Landowner, Gram Panchayat, or Gram Sabha must provide advance notification regarding the proposed date of harvesting to the Range Officer (Van Kshetra Adhikari) or Tehsildar, at least seven days prior to the proposed date._

_The Landowner, Gram Panchayat, or Gram Sabha must maintain a register regarding the trees harvested, using the prescribed format within the Technical Management Plan._

_All subsequent operations and transactions mentioned in the Technical Management Plan must be completed within the stipulated time._

_The implementation of the approved Technical Management Plan will be monitored by the Competent Authority (Samyak Pradhikari) through a committee or other authorized official under the supervision of the Divisional Officer (Van Mandal Adhikari)._

_The approval of the Technical Management Plan may be revoked if there is a violation of the defined conditions or rules._

The applicant, if a landowner wishing to manage a tree covered area, must submit a proposal to the Divisional Officer (Van Mandal Adhikari) or the Range Officer (Van Kshetra Adhikari). If the applicant is a Gram Panchayat or Gram Sabha wishing to manage tree covered revenue land, they must apply to the Tehsildar (Revenue) to have the land demarcated and managed as "Lok Van" (Public Forest).
