About This Scheme

The National Mission on Natural Farming (NMNF) is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme implemented by the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India. The scheme aims to promote natural farming practices through capacity building, awareness creation, certification, and financial assistance for on-farm input production infrastructure to farmers. It focuses on reducing dependence on externally purchased inputs, lowering cultivation costs, improving soil health, and increasing farmers' income. The mission supports the formation of natural farming clusters, Farmer Field Schools, certification under the Natural Farming Recognition System, and market development initiatives for natural farming produce. It also promotes integrated agriculture-animal husbandry models based on desi cows and locally available resources.

Assistance is available only to farmers who adopt and continue natural farming practices.

Participation in Farmer Field Schools (FFS) for practical training on natural farming techniques.

Training programmes organized by Champion Farmers and Community Resource Persons.

Exposure visits to successful natural farming models and farms.

> Natural Farming Kit

Natural Farming Kit provided to participating farmers during Farmer Field School activities.

Cost norm of ₹1,200/- per farmer for the kit.

> Certification Support

Registration and certification support under the Natural Farming Recognition System (NFRS).

Certification facilitation and verification support provided for cluster members.

> Market Development Support

Support for marketing, branding, exhibitions, haats, melas, and promotion of certified natural farming produce.

Promotion of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) for aggregation and marketing.
