The scheme offers practical training to graduate engineers, diploma holders (Technicians), and 10+2 Vocational pass-outs in approximately 10,000 industrial establishments. This program operates in compliance with guidelines established by the Central Apprenticeship Council (CAC), a statutory body created under the Apprentices Act, 1961. The primary goal is to bridge the gap in practical experience for fresh Graduate Engineers, Diploma holders, and 10+2 Vocational pass-outs. The apprentices undergo a one-year training period, receiving a monthly stipend shared equally between the Central Government and the Employer.
