About This Scheme

The "Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY)" is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme implemented by the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare, Government of India under the "National Mission on Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA)". The scheme aims to promote organic farming through a cluster-based approach and Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) certification. It supports farmers in converting conventional agricultural land into organic farming systems through financial assistance for certification, organic inputs, manure management, and marketing activities. The scheme is implemented over a period of 3 years, corresponding to the 36-month conversion period from conventional to organic farming. The funding pattern is 60:40 between the Central and State Governments, 90:10 for North Eastern and Himalayan States, and 100% Central assistance for Union Territories.

Support for PGS certification and quality control activities.

Assistance for online registration, soil testing, field inspections, residue analysis, and certification processes.

> Conversion of Land into Organic Farming:

Assistance for conversion of conventional land into organic farming.

Support for organic cropping systems.

Assistance for organic seed procurement and nursery raising.

Support for establishment of organic input production units.

Assistance for biological nitrogen harvesting plantations.

Support for botanical extract production units.

> Integrated Manure Management

Assistance for production and use of liquid bio-fertilizers.

Assistance for liquid bio-pesticides.

Support for natural pest control practices.

Assistance for Phosphate Rich Organic Manure (PROM).

Support for vermicompost units.

> Custom Hiring Centre (CHC):

Assistance for hiring agricultural implements required for organic farming operations.

> Packing, Labelling and Branding:

Assistance for procurement of packing materials.

Support for PGS logo and hologram printing.
