About This Scheme

The “Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) for the wards of Central Armed Police Forces / Assam Rifles personnel” has been introduced by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, and aims to encourage higher technical and professional education for the dependent wards and widows of Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles personnel who are martyred during Terror/Naxal attacks. Through this scheme, a monthly scholarship for girls and boys is provided to the eligible dependent wards/widows pursuing first professional degree programmes. The scheme is implemented by the Welfare and Rehabilitation Board (WARB) under the Ministry of Home Affairs, under the aegis of the National Defence Fund, through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) version 2.0.

Benefits

₹3.0K · annual

1. The applicant who is a girl, shall receive ₹3,000/- per month, totalling ₹36,000/- per year.

₹2.5K · annual

1. The applicant who is a boy, shall receive ₹2,500/- per month, totalling ₹30,000/- per year.

1. The amount is paid annually after selection.

1. All applicants selected under the fresh category will be given personal letters from the Hon'ble Prime Minister in the appropriate language.

> Number of Scholarships:

1. A total of 2,000 new scholarships are granted each academic year (in addition to renewal cases of the previous year), equally distributed between boys and girls (1,000 each).

1. The quota of 1,000 each fixed for boys and girls is not interchangeable.

> Duration of Scholarship:** Up to 5 years (depending upon the duration of the course being pursued by the applicant and as approved by the respective regulatory body).

Required Documents

  • The following documents in the respective category are mandatorily required to be submitted/uploaded by the applicant for applying online on NSP 2.0 under PMSS:-
  • > For Fresh Applicant:
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Service Certificate to be issued by the H.O.O in case of serving personnel as per [Annexure-A](https://scholarships.gov.in/public/schemeGuidelines/warb/G_1197_3001.pdf). 1. Applicants are required to upload a duly attested scanned copy of the Mark sheet MEQ i.e. XII/Diploma/Graduation or equivalent is mandatory along with the following certificate which is applicable:
  • PPO/Discharge Certificate/Book (Mandatory for category A to F)
  • Disability Certificate (Mandatory for category B & D)
  • Death Certificate (Mandatory for category A & C)
  • Certificate of Gallantry award (Mandatory for category E)
  • > For Renewal:
  • Service Certificate to be issued by the H.O.O. in case of serving personnel as per [Annexure-A](https://scholarships.gov.in/public/schemeGuidelines/warb/G_1197_3001.pdf). - The certificate issued by the educational institution (for category A to F)
  • Note: Submission of bank particulars including the account number of the nationalized bank by the applicant duly seeded with an Aadhaar Number is mandatory.
