About This Scheme

The scheme "Post Matric Scholarships to the Students Belonging to Scheduled Castes" by the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. It aims to appreciably increase the Gross Enrolment Ratio of Scheduled Caste students in higher education, with a focus on students from the poorest households. Through this scheme, financial assistance in the form of reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable fees and academic allowance is provided to Scheduled Caste students pursuing post-matriculation and post-secondary education in India. The scheme is implemented by the UT Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu. The scholarships are available for recognised post-matriculation and post-secondary courses pursued in recognised institutions. The scheme covers both fresh and renewal cases. Benefits are available for the complete duration of the approved course, subject to fulfilment of prescribed conditions. Scholarship payments are made directly into the student's bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Benefits

₹2.5K · annual

1. Academic allowance for Day Scholars: ₹2,500 to ₹7,000 per annum.

₹4.0K · annual

1. Academic allowance for Hostellers: ₹4,000 to ₹13,500 per annum.

1. Reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable fees, including tuition fees.

1. Additional 10% allowance for Divyang students.

1. Students pursuing CA/ICWA/CS/ICFA are treated as day scholars.

1. Financial support for higher education and professional courses.
