About This Scheme
The scheme "Pre-Matric Scholarship for Scheduled Caste Students" launched by the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, aims to support the education of Scheduled Caste students studying at the pre-matric stage, reduce school drop-out rates, and encourage continuation of education up to higher levels. Through this scheme, annual scholarship assistance is provided to eligible Scheduled Caste students studying in Classes IX and X. The scheme is implemented by the UT Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu. The scholarship is provided as a consolidated academic allowance to support educational expenses. The scheme seeks to improve educational participation and progression of Scheduled Caste students to the post-matric level. > Objectives - To support parents of Scheduled Caste students for the education of their wards studying at the pre-matric stage. - To minimise school drop-out rates, especially during the transition from elementary to secondary education. - To improve students' educational performance and increase their chances of progressing to the post-matric stage.
Benefits
1. Financial support for SC students studying in Std. IX and X.

1. ₹3,500/- per annum assistance for day scholars.
₹7.0K · annual
1. ₹7,000/- per annum assistance for hostellers.
1. Additional 10% allowance for Divyang students.
1. Encourages continuation of education among economically weaker students.
