About This Scheme

The scheme Special Incentive to ST (P)/OBC/MOBC Meritorious Students by the Directorate of Welfare of Plains Tribes and Backward Classes, Government of Assam, aims to provide financial assistance to meritorious students from Scheduled Tribes (Plains), Other Backward Classes, and More Other Backward Classes communities in Assam. Disbursement Conditions
  • Benefits are granted on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to fund availability.
  • The Selection Committee may lower cut-off marks if insufficient applications are received.
  • Financial assistance is transferred to the bank accounts of selected beneficiaries.

How to Apply

IIn-person

Step 1: The Directorate of Welfare of Plains Tribes and Backward Classes, Assam, will advertise the scheme in print and electronic media, along with the prescribed format of the application form.

Step 2: The interested applicant should take print of the prescribed format of the application form.

Step 3: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, paste the passport-sized photograph (signed across, if required), and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).

Step 4: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the documents, within the prescribed period (if any), to the Director, WPT & BC, Assam.

*Applicants are advised to retain a copy of the submitted application and acknowledgment for future reference.

Scrutiny and Approval

Step 1: Applications are scrutinized by the Selection Committee.

Step 2: Approved beneficiaries are selected based on merit and fund availability.
