About This Scheme

The Small Scale Dairy Unit (SSDU) has been launched by the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, U.T. Administration of Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli. It aims to promote dairy development by supporting the establishment of a small-scale dairy unit with indigenous Gir cows. Through this scheme, financial assistance in the form of capital subsidy and back-ended subsidy is provided to beneficiaries for the purchase of milch cows, construction of cattle sheds, and procurement of feed, equipment, and insurance coverage.

    > Preference / Reservation / Relaxation: The applicant belonging to the Scheduled Caste or the Scheduled Tribe category is eligible for a higher subsidy rate under the back-ended subsidy and insurance components.
