About This Scheme

The scheme "Scholarship to Disabled Students" by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Gujarat, aims to support the educational needs of students with benchmark disabilities of more than 40%, as per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. Through this scheme, annual scholarships ranging from ₹1,500/- to ₹4,500/- are provided to students with disabilities studying from Class 1 onwards, depending on the level of education. The scheme is implemented by the Social Defense Division of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department. The objective is to encourage continued education among students with disabilities by providing financial assistance, especially for those who have achieved at least 40% marks in their last annual examination and possess a valid disability identity card.

Scholarship Assistance:

  • ₹1,500/- per year for students with disabilities studying in Class 1st to 8th.
  • ₹2,000/- to ₹4,500 per year for students studying in Class 9th and above.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a resident of Gujarat.

  • The applicant should be a student.

  • The applicant must have at least 40% of any of the 21 benchmark disabilities listed under the [Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016](https://www.indiacode.nic.in/bitstream/123456789/15939/1/therightsofpersonswithdisabilitiesact%2C2016.pdf). - The applicant should have passed the last annual examination with a minimum of 40% marks.

  • The applicant should possess a valid PH (Person with Disability) Identity Card.

  • The applicant should be currently studying in a recognized educational institution.

How to Apply for a New Service:

Step 1: After logging in, select the relevant department.

Step 2: Choose the specific service to apply for within that department.

Step 3: Fill out all required details in the application form.

Step 4: Upload, attach, or browse necessary documents. Alternatively, import documents directly from DigiLocker.

Step 5: Carefully review all entered information.

Step 6: Submit the application.

Step 7: Once the application is completed, proceed to payment to download the certificate.

Step 8: Upon successful payment, the certificate will be available for download.
