About This Scheme

The Widow Remarriage Scheme under the Government of Himachal Pradesh aims to support the rehabilitation of widows by encouraging men to marry widows through a monetary incentive. Under this scheme, a grant is provided to bona fide Himachali men (above 21 years) and women (above 18 years) at the time of marriage.

If any widow re-marries, a cheque of ₹ 20,000/- is given to the women and a Fix Deposit worth ₹ 30,000/- for the 5 years term is given to the couple.

How to Apply

IIn-person

Step 1: Visit the CDPO (Child Development Project Officer) office and collect the application form.

Step 2: Fill out the form with required details and attach all necessary documents.

Step 3: Submit the completed application form at the CDPO office for verification and further processing.
