Welfare Services for Children

The "Welfare Services for Children" component under the Mizoram Grant-in-Aid framework is designed to ensure the well-being, protection, and holistic development of children in vulnerable situations. The scheme supports voluntary organisations in delivering essential services to children who are deprived of family care, exposed to exploitation, or facing socio-economic hardships. Target beneficiaries include orphans, street children, children affected by HIV/AIDS, child labourers, and juvenile delinquents. The scheme provides financial assistance to organizations for setting up and running institutions such as orphanages, daycare centres, and special schools. It also supports health and nutrition programmes, educational initiatives, and rehabilitation services aimed at reintegrating children into society. Preventive measures are encouraged to reduce child labour and protect children from exploitation. Special emphasis is given to providing a safe environment, access to education, vocational training, and healthcare services.
