Children's Tiatr Competition
The scheme aims to encourage the development of Tiatr by providing a platform for children aged up to 16 years to participate in traditional Konkani theatre productions. The scheme benefits Educational Institutions, Sports and Cultural Associations, and Individual Producers.
About This Scheme
Benefits
- Financial support as fixed by Tiatr Academy of Goa.
- Financial assistance covers expenditure towards Music (Live Band with at least two blowing instruments), Light Effects, Stage Setting, Background Music, Make up, Costumes, Refreshments for rehearsals, and Transport.
- All payments made by cheques in the name of the Educational Institutions, Sports and Cultural Associations, or Individual Producer.
- Free DVD copy of the recorded performance provided to the producer or director.
- Mementos and certificates awarded to winners in different categories (No Cash Prizes).
- Video recording of all tiatrs for preservation in Tiatr Academy of Goa Library.
- First three award winners of the previous year's Children Tiatr Competition get direct entry into the festival.

Required Documents
- ✦Self-Attested Copies of Birth Certificate or Baptism Certificate for All Child Performers (Original Should Be Produced for Verification).
- ✦Certificate by the Headmaster or Headmistress of a Recognized School Certifying the Birth Date (Alternative to Birth/Baptism Certificate).
- ✦Self-Attested Copies of Aadhaar Card.
- ✦Self-Attested Copies of Permanent Account Number Card.
- ✦Typed Copy of the Complete Script of Tiatr.
- ✦Typed Copy of Lyrics of Kantaram.
- ✦Refundable Security Deposit of ₹3,000/- in the Form of Cash or Demand Draft in Favour of Member Secretary, Tiatr Academy of Goa Payable at Panaji.

How to Apply
(The scheme announcement will be made in the local press. Wait for this official announcement before proceeding with the application)
Step 1: The interested applicant should take a printout of the prescribed format of the application form.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required). Sign the application form and mention the date.
Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the documents to -

*Applicants are advised to save a copy of the submitted application form and any acknowledgment.
*Applications are considered on a "First come First Serve" basis, subject to the availability of funds.
*If any applicant withdraws after the schedule is drawn by Tiatr Academy of Goa, full security deposit will stand forfeited.
*15 Educational Institutions, Sports and Cultural Associations, or Individual Producers will be given an opportunity to participate.
*In case Tiatr Academy of Goa receives more than 15 applications, a meeting of all applicants will be called and the selection of remaining 12 troupes will be done by lots.
*In case any of the 15 participants withdraws from the competition, the vacant place will be filled by the Troupe which is first on the waiting list.
Post-Application ProcessesStep 1: Await Script Scrutiny Feedback
After submission, Tiatr Academy of Goa will scrutinize the script to verify whether it is related to the lives of children and check the interactive nature of kantaram. Feedback, if any, will be provided to the applicant within 10 days. The Academy has the right to make suggestions for improvement or reject the script completely if found unrelated to children's lives.
Step 2: Participate in Selection Process (If Applicable)
If more than 15 applications are received, attend the meeting called by Tiatr Academy of Goa where selection of the remaining 12 troupes will be done by lots. The first three award winners of the previous year get direct entry if their applications are received before the due date.
Step 3: Submit Final Documentation Before Competition
Submit the final typed copy of the script, typed copy of songs (kantaram), cast of the tiatr, and summary of songs to Tiatr Academy of Goa during office hours exactly 3 days before the date of commencement of the tiatr competition.
Step 4: Participate in Competition
Stage the Tiatr at the place and day identified by Tiatr Academy of Goa according to the announced schedule. The performance will be judged by a panel of judges appointed by the Academy, and their decision will be final and binding on all participants.
