About This Scheme

The component Exchange of Knowledge / Research / Ideas – For Attending Seminars, Workshops and Conferences of Repute in India or Abroad under the Scheme of Human Resources Development in Sports by the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India aims to promote professional development through knowledge exchange in the field of sports. Through this component, financial assistance is provided to eligible sports professionals for attending reputed seminars, workshops and conferences in India and abroad.

For Permanent Employees of Central/State/Union Territory Governments and Autonomous Bodies

  • Economy class air fare by the shortest route for international travel.
  • Airport taxes, mandatory local transport and incidental expenses.
  • AC 2 Tier train fare for domestic travel.
  • Economy class airfare for domestic journeys exceeding 500 km.
  • Assistance is reduced if financial support is received from the event organizer.

For Permanent Faculty of Government-funded and University Grants Commission-regulated Universities

  • Financial assistance towards air travel expenses for participation in India or abroad.

Eligibility

    The applicant should be a professional working in the field of sports.

  • •

    The applicant should be invited to chair the event, deliver a keynote address or present a research paper accepted by the organizers.

  • •

    The applicant's research paper should have practical importance or significant academic value in sports or sports sciences.

  • •

    The applicant should be a permanent employee of the Central Government, State Government, Union Territory Government or an autonomous body under the Government for assistance relating to seminar participation.

  • •

    The applicant may be a permanent faculty member of a government-funded and University Grants Commission-regulated university for assistance towards air travel.

How to Apply

Step 01: The applicant should submit the application online through the dedicated portal, dbtyas-sports.gov.in. Only online applications received through this portal are accepted.

Step 02: The applications, along with the recommendations of the Appraisal Committee, are then placed before the Designated Committee, which meets bi-monthly in the first or second week of every alternate month.

Step 03: The decision of the Designated Committee in respect of selection of any application or proposal is final.

Step 04: Selected candidates are intimated by the Department and are required to submit all documents in original to the Department of Sports for verification.

NOTE:

  • The applicant should ensure submit the mandatory report within 15 days.
  • Applications and proposals received on or before the 20th day of the preceding month, and complete in all respects, are first placed before the Appraisal Committee for examining the eligibility and technical aspects.
