About This Scheme

The Scheme to Provide Monthly Financial Assistance to Elderly and Eligible Writers is a welfare initiative implemented by the Gujarat Sahitya Academy to provide financial security to elderly writers who have significantly contributed to Gujarati, Hindi, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Urdu, or Kutchi literature. The scheme offers monthly assistance to writers who are 60 years of age or older, have no steady pension or major income source, and are economically disadvantaged.

Eligibility

    The applicant must belong to one of the recognized language academies: Gujarati, Hindi, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Urdu, or Kutchi.

    The applicant’s annual family income must be below ₹1,20,000 in rural areas and below ₹1,50,000 in urban areas, certified by the Mamlatdar.

    The applicant must not already be receiving financial support under similar schemes.
